At its inception in the 1920s, ATCC was simply a collection of microbial cultures, a repository of microorganisms that scientists could use to conduct their research to make new discoveries. Today, ATCC provides the world’s leading scientists with the largest and most diverse collections of biological materials, including not only microbial products but also cell products, molecular genomics tools, and nucleic acids. We also provide services such as cell authentication and a range of funding. And we continue to advocate for reproducibility in science by delivering high-quality products and standards cited by organizations worldwide. As a result, we have become a trusted partner to members of the life sciences community as they collaborate to improve global health and well-being and address some of the world’s greatest health threats.
